Intro


 My name is Ellis. I am 15 years old and I go to Fort Lauderdale High School. I enjoy to read, collect, and annotated books. I organize them on my shelf by color, even though some people think its inefficient. To me, my bookshelf makes sense. To others it can be a little confusing but my bookshelf is just for me anyways. I love Art and painting. I am creative and value my originality. I am confident and I like to speak my mind. One of the most important things in my life are my friends, and they mean the world to me. I show my love by planning things for us to do together and making sure everyone enjoys them. I love to take pictures of my friends and have a large collection of photos and videos of them. I love to dress well. I have a lot of clothes and use a lot of thought when picking them out in the mornings. Usually, I have a very specific vision and stick to it, which I believe creates my best work. I think up the concept and create it, no matter the effort I have to put in. Some people might find this overwhelming, but I believe it is one of my strengths. A lot of this dedication spills over into my art and the activities that I do. My main extracurricular is debate. I love to debate with people and find the skills I learn doing it very practical outside of the team. One of the best things about debate is traveling for tournaments and going all over the country just to argue with people. I grow close to the other members of the team and we form friendships and bonds that will last. Debate also creates good connections with people all across the country.

My final music video project is based on conventions that I saw while researching indie music. It sticks to the common homemade aesthetics that are seen in a large amount of indie and bedroom pop music videos. However, I challenged these conventions by using them with a song that is popular and is not indie or bedroom pop. The conventions of the genre of “Head over Heels” are often over the top with quirky visuals. I took a small bit of inspiration from these characteristics, but otherwise, I stayed true to the indie genre. It represents my friends and I’s shared cultural heritage and gender. Music Video: My research

 4EVER - Clairo Cameras: Slow zooms, fast pans, and short shots.  Editing: Fast cutting and grainy texture. Credit screen at beginning to introduce actors. Not full screen, cropped to about 2/3 of the whole available space.  Sound: Mostly diegetic sound throughout. However, in the first 30 seconds there is a mix between silence and the diegetic sound from the music. Mis-En-Scene- Costumes were natural and retro. Lighting was mostly natural light due to filming outdoors but occasionally cut to inside with dim warm lighting. None were wearing makeup. Actors did not put on a character and rather acted as exaggerated versions of themselves. Props included glasses, microphones, and drink cups. Setting was places around a college campus. Attention - NewJeans Cameras: Unfocused and sporadic. Many wide shots. Scenes were very short. Most shots were eye level angles. Editing: Quick and fast jump cuts.
