Music Video: Change of plans.

Image
While I was editing my music video, I came to the realization that I did not have enough footage. This was a big issue because my song is kind of long so I have to have enough to fill the entire thing. I couldn't really think of any solution. Since I didn't have any back ups, my only other option was to refilm the entire video. I know it seems like doing a lot of extra work. For me it's really not. I hadn't gotten super far in the editing so it wouldn't have been too much of a waste. If I had gotten farther, I probably wouldn't have changed it up and just added random clips. But I wanted the video to be genuine. So the easiest solution for me was to refilm the video and change my concept. I still kept the general vibe from my storyboard in my planning. I wanted to keep my conventions the same. Especially since I wasn't going to be changing the genre of music. So I decided to film on Halloween. This seemed like the best solution. It's definitely tough to

Music Video: The beginning of editing!

This was the portion of the music video was what I was most worried about. I had collected a lot of footage from different places. Because my was from so many different sources, it made it harder to combine it all together. I had stuff from Polaroids and from my phone camera and a professional camera. I have to organize them all into files. This was a little confusing because I had never organized media like this before. However, I looked up the best way to get this done. It turns out it was not as hard as I thought. After I had organize all the footage, I uploaded it into my editing software. Luckily, I had experience with the software before. I used it when I made my commercial. The last time I had used it, it wasn't that difficult. That's why I chose to use it again. I was worried about how much it could handle though last time I used a limited amount of footage, but this time I had a lot more. I had to upload the footage in sections. It turns out I for nothing because this

Music Video: Filming

I started filming with my friends. It was so fun to see my ideas come to reality. Before they arrived, I had to choose my cameras. I had multiple cameras to choose from. I enjoy collecting cameras in my free time. Anyways, making the choice was kind of hard. I have two polaroid cameras, one is a mini Polaroid and the other is a digital and polaroid mixed together. I think the mini one has a cuter look, but the mixed one would be more practical. In the end I decided to use the mixed one over the mini. Next, I chose to use my digital camera that can record videos. It has a signature look to the footage which sets it apart. Lastly, I had to choose between my professional grade camera, or my iPhone. This was the hardest. Mostly because the professional one has better quality, however it does not record audio. So, I would have to find another way to record audio. My iPhone has worse quality, but it also records audio. I choose to use my iPhone, to streamline the process. The first scene I

I would've started filming earlier, but unfortunately all of the people I was planning to film with were busy. It's okay though, because I built extra time into my plan. Instead, I brainstormed my storyboard. I wanted to make sure it was all realistic. I made sure to refer back to my research and keep on genre. I choose a song that is slow and indie. In my research it showed that most music videos with songs like that usually have an home video vibe. So that is why I chose to shoot at my house with friends. I drew out my storyboard after. It was fun to visualize the scenes and sketch them. I was thinking of adding color but didn't just incase plans changed. I was so proud of my storyboard. I heard that it was an actual job. I think it would be a lot of fun to be a professional storyboard artist. Anyways, now I know exactly how my video will look. It's relieving. I can also set up things just how they need to be. I can prepare all the props and place the camera where th

4EVER - Clairo Cameras: Slow zooms, fast pans, and short shots.  Editing: Fast cutting and grainy texture. Credit screen at beginning to introduce actors. Not full screen, cropped to about 2/3 of the whole available space.  Sound: Mostly diegetic sound throughout. However, in the first 30 seconds there is a mix between silence and the diegetic sound from the music. Mis-En-Scene- Costumes were natural and retro. Lighting was mostly natural light due to filming outdoors but occasionally cut to inside with dim warm lighting. None were wearing makeup. Actors did not put on a character and rather acted as exaggerated versions of themselves. Props included glasses, microphones, and drink cups. Setting was places around a college campus. Attention - NewJeans Cameras: Unfocused and sporadic. Many wide shots. Scenes were very short. Most shots were eye level angles. Editing: Quick and fast jump cuts. There was sparkling effects over the screen at some points. Colors were made more vibrant.  So

- For my music video, I want my friends to have extra cameras and stuffed animals, along with food and drinks. - Also, in my living room on a cam corder mixed with phone video. - We would film it at my house. - The original footage would be filmed October 26.  - After, I plan to spend until November 1 editing it, leaving the next week after for a margin of error. -  For the costumes I want to keep it authentic, so my friends can pick their clothes as long as they follow the theme I gave.

Music Video: Group Blog

When it came to this project, I made the deliberate choice to go solo. The reason behind it is that I have a very specific vision in mind. I didn't want to impose my vision on others and make things complicated. Plus, dealing with all the logistics of a group didn't seem very appealing. At one point, I did consider joining a group because teamwork can be beneficial. However, upon further thought, I concluded that I'd be more effective working independently. I do recognize the value of collaboration in general. But for this particular project, I genuinely believe that a solo approach is the way to go. It's essential to acknowledge that this project is substantial and challenging. Despite the workload, I believe that working alone will minimize potential hurdles. Going solo allows me to maintain full control over the project's direction and execution. It ensures that my vision is realized without any compromises. Sometimes, group dynamics can lead to creative clashes

My name is Ellis. I am 15 years old and I go to Fort Lauderdale High School. I enjoy to read, collect, and annotated books. I organize them on my shelf by color, even though some people think its inefficient. To me, my bookshelf makes sense. To others it can be a little confusing but my bookshelf is just for me anyways. I love Art and painting. I am creative and value my originality. I am confident and I like to speak my mind. One of the most important things in my life are my friends, and they mean the world to me. I show my love by planning things for us to do together and making sure everyone enjoys them. I love to take pictures of my friends and have a large collection of photos and videos of them. I love to dress well. I have a lot of clothes and use a lot of thought when picking them out in the mornings. Usually, I have a very specific vision and stick to it, which I believe creates my best work. I think up the concept and create it, no matter the effort I have to put in. Some p
