Reflection

I learned a lot working on this project. At first, I was not sure how to use CapCut from scratch. Over time, I learnt all the functions. It was a little difficult to figure it out because of how many settings there is. The layout seemed so overwhelming. I also learned how to choose media for a project. I got a lot of creative freedom in doing this project. This allowed me to fully choose to do whatever I wanted. I could choose the filters, pictures, songs, and stickers. I love that part of it. Creativity is something I value a lot. I am glad that I was able to fully control the project. I also learned how to blog. I had never blogged before this project. I had to put in work into writing blogs which was a little difficult at first. I had to pay attention to the process of making the video to write about after. I am not used to writing about my creative process and paying that much attention to it. In the end, I was able to figure it out. I made all my blogs on time which is something t

My commercial is almost done. After finishing putting together all the stickers, I moved on to finishing the overall feel. Some pictures felt disconnected. I worked to reorder them. This helped make the commercial feel more cohesive. I wanted a scrapbook vibe but I still wanted it to fit together. To make them more cohesive, I added a filter. The filter fit over the whole video. I spent some time picking out which filter to use. Honestly, it was difficult to choose just one. All looked so good! There was one that had a cold and chill vibe which brought out blues. Another one was warm and vibrant which made the oranges pop. I looked at a final one, which was kind of purple, and decided to choose that. Then, I adjusted some of the settings on the filter. This made it perfect. I applied it to the whole video. I watched the video a few times to make sure it was perfect. After I saw everything was perfect, I was so happy. Everything is finally finished!

I'm nearing the end of my commercial. My goal at this point is to add the finishing touches to the video. I add some of the stickers available on the editing platform I was using. They add to the scrap-bookish vibe I am trying to go for. The stickers look so cute with the pictures I choose. The reason I want to give a organic paper vibe is because scrapbooking used to be one of my favorite pass times. I decorated pictures of me and my friends in a journal. I used tons of stickers, tape, and paper to express my feelings. It was so fun! So, I want to include that in my final video. Choosing the stickers was kind of difficult. There were so many cute options. I figured it out in the end, however. I choose some stars, hearts, and fake paper cut outs. I organized them in the video. It took awhile to figure out the placement I wanted. I don't want to cover important parts of the media I choose, but I also don't want to leave empty spaces. Eventually, I figured it out. I also adde

After thinking some on my commercial, I came to the conclusion that the song I choose wasn't the best fit. I had originally chosen The Spark- The Roots. Now, I am thinking of changing it. I thought the original song had the best rhythm. However, I realized that it could be better while editing my video. The beat was not moving fast enough to fit all the media I wanted into a short time period. I ran into this issue when formatting and laying out the time. I originally decided to go through with it anyways, but after thinking more I decided to change it. I changed it to New Bottega - Azealia Banks. I made sure to use the clean version. The beat on this song is very fast which makes it a better choice. It still has all the qualities I want, but is faster. I uploaded it to my editing software and re-organized my media. Redoing the layout of my media was tedious. In the end, I finished fixing it up. When playing the video back, I saw that this change was the perfect choice. The song is

The software I am using for my video is CapCut. I choose it because it is free and easy to use. Another plus of CapCut is that is good for editing on your phone. This makes it very convenient to edit quickly and whenever I have the free time. The first thing I did was sketch out the general idea I wanted for each main frame in the video. I know I wanted to include a section for Polaroids. I wanted to highlight that section because I think its a cute and more natural way of including all my pictures into the video. I did a rough color of the whole storyboard to get an idea of the color story in the video. When I make videos, I always focus on the colors. Colors have such a big role in the feeling and message portrayed. So, with my three key takeaways in mind (confidence, creativity, and loyalty) I choose yellow, orange, and purple as my main colors. After storyboarding, I moved over to my editing software and uploaded all the media I was planning to use onto it. The first thing I did w

Research and Planning For Commerical

To start off, I wanted to visualize the concept that I wanted for my commercial. I started off thinking about my traits that could be highlighted, and I came up with these three: Art, Confidence, and Friendship. I think these three words describe myself in a good way for the advertisement. Next, when I was choosing a song, my goal was to include these traits into my choice. So I decided to go with The Spark (Clean Version) -The Roots. The main reasons for choosing this song was the rhythm, the lyrics, and the energy. I think the rhythm of the song is good for the commercial I was envisioning. I did consider other songs, such as Drama - Erika de Casier and Heated - Beyonce but because they didn't have the rhythm I was looking for, I did not. I also think the lyrics from The Spark resonate with me and the traits that I specified to begin with. The energy of the song is confident and comes off as fearless. These are the feelings I want to show with this video.  Next, I choose the vid

My name is Ellis. I am 15 years old and I go to Fort Lauderdale High School. I enjoy to read and collect books for their covers. I organize them on my shelf by color, even though some people think its inefficient. Art is my passion and I love to draw. I would consider myself very creative and original. I am confident and I like to speak my mind. One of the most important things in my life are my friends, and they mean the world to me. I show my love by planning things for us to do together and making sure everyone enjoys them. I love to take pictures of my friends and have a large collection of photos and videos of them. I love to dress well. I have a lot of clothes and use a lot of thought when picking them out in the mornings. Usually, I have a very specific vision and stick to it, which I believe creates my best work. I think up the concept and create it, no matter the effort I have to put in. Some people might find this overwhelming, but I believe it is one of my strengths. A lot
