Planning Blog 1: Script

 SCENE ONE: Opening at the park, characters on a picnic blanket.

- CICI: Hey, that's not funny!

- LOLA: It's very funny, actually.

- JULI: *Laughing*

LOLA PICKS UP HER PHONE 

- LOLA: My curfew is soon, I have so much homework.

- CICI: Same.

- JULI: Real.

SCENE TWO:

JULI IS WALKING ALONE IN THE WOODS. SHE IS WEARING DIFFERENT CLOTHES FROM THE LAST SCENE, INDICATING A DIFFERENT DATE. SHE ALMOST STEPS ON THE BRACLET THAT LOLA WORE IN SCENE ONE. SHE PICKS IT UP TO EXAMINE IT.

SCENE THREE: 

LOLA IS SITTING ALONE IN THE WOODS WHERE JULI WAS SEARCHING. SHE IS WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES FROM SCENE ONE. SHE IS SITTING ALONE SHAKING. CAMERA ZOOMS ON HER BRACLET WHILE SHE SQUEEZES HER HAND TOGETHER.

SCENE FOUR:

A HAND IS CONNECTING PICTURES OF THE PARK, LOLA, CICI, THE PICNIC BLANKET, AND WHERE LOLAS BRACELET WAS FOUND BY JULI. THE PICTURES ARE CONNECTED BY RED THREAD.

SCENE FIVE: 

CICI IS SITTING ALONE WITH HER HEAD DOWN AT A PICNIC TABLE IN THE PARK. SHE IS WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES FROM SCENE ONE. SHE IS NOT MOVING. THERE IS A RUSSLE IN THE LEAVES AND SHE QUICKLY WHIPS HER HEAD AROUND TO STARE AT WHERE IT CAME FROM. HER FACE IS TERRIFIED HOWEVER THE VIEWER IS NOT AWARE OF WHAT SHE IS SEEING.

SCENE 6: 

JULI COLLECTS MANY PAPERS FROM A PRINTER AND TIES THEM WITH THREAD. SHE STACKS THE PAPERS UP AND SIGHS.

SCENE 7: 

JULI PINS A MISSING POSTER WITH LOLA AND CICIS FACES ON IT TO A POLL IN THE PARK. SHE STARES AT IT.

JULI: Please come home.

It sticks to the common homemade aesthetics that are seen in a large amount of indie and bedroom pop music videos. However, I challenged these conventions by using them with a song that is popular and is not indie or bedroom pop. The conventions of the genre of “Head over Heels” are often over the top with quirky visuals. Music Video: My research

 4EVER - Clairo Cameras: Slow zooms, fast pans, and short shots.  Editing: Fast cutting and grainy texture. Credit screen at beginning to introduce actors. Not full screen, cropped to about 2/3 of the whole available space.  Sound: Mostly diegetic sound throughout. However, in the first 30 seconds there is a mix between silence and the diegetic sound from the music. Mis-En-Scene- Costumes were natural and retro. Lighting was mostly natural light due to filming outdoors but occasionally cut to inside with dim warm lighting. None were wearing makeup. Actors did not put on a character and rather acted as exaggerated versions of themselves. Props included glasses, microphones, and drink cups. Setting was places around a college campus. Attention - NewJeans Cameras: Unfocused and sporadic. Many wide shots. Scenes were very short. Most shots were eye level angles. Editing: Quick and fast jump cuts.
